Multimode laser diodes offer higher output power than single-mode laser diodes. For applications where higher power is required, and beam quality is not as critical. Multimode laser diodes are spatially and longitudinally multimode. Output powers are in the order of 100mW – 10W per emitter depending on the wavelength.
